Personalized career exploration for students and families

Choosing a career path can feel overwhelming for both students and parents. My goal is to help students thoughtfully explore careers that genuinely fit who they are while also helping families better understand the educational pathways, costs, opportunities, and real-world considerations involved.

This service is 100% free. I do this in service to the Lord, and I treat each student as an individual — not as a test score, a major, or a generic career list.

How It Works

  • Initial meeting: It all begins with a relaxed 90-minute conversation to get to know the student, their interests, personality, strengths, concerns, and goals.
  • Student input: After the meeting the student completes 3 online assessments (90 minutes total).
  • Personalized report: I prepare a detailed online report tailored specifically to the student, usually within about three days after receiving the completed information.
  • Next steps: The student and family can use the report to explore careers more deeply, pray about them, ask questions, and identify careers for deeper exploration.

Timing

The first meeting is usually in person, but Zoom or phone can work when needed. If the student is under 18, I ask that at least one parent be present and copied on correspondence.

Although I have a standard process, I treat every student as an individual and tailor both the guidance and the reports to meet the specific needs, interests, goals, and personality of the student.

About

I am a retired Electrical Engineer with 34 years at Caterpillar, a BSEE and MSEE, and a deep love for helping students think carefully about their future. I have been blessed to help more than 100 students from many schools, churches, and communities.

I've been married to Jill for 40 years. We have been members of Grace Pres for over 30 years. And we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Helping students is not my job, it is my passion, and I serve each student with absolute excellence, as unto the Lord.

NOTE: I have worked with students ranging from Freshmen in HS up to career-changers in their 40's and I would consider it a privilege to help you.
